Mobility prominent in new compendium of best practices on smart tourism

Last year, 38 cities from 19 EU Member States presented their smart and innovative measures in tourism in an effort to win the 2019 European Capital of Smart Tourism title.

A selection of 85 best practices put forward by the cities in their applications have been compiled and published in the 2019 European Capital of Smart Tourism Compendium of Best Practices.

The practices have been divided between the individual award categories, which were accessibility, sustainability, digitalisation, cultural heritage and creativity.

The purpose of this collection of best practices is to raise awareness about existing smart tourism measures and to strengthen peer-to-peer learning and innovative development of tourism in the EU.

The compendium is intended to further inspire EU cities to drive smart tourism and support them in exchanging exemplary initiatives with others.
