CIVITAS ECCENTRIC Webinar: Addressing vulnerable groups and gender issues in SUMP

Belgium

Other

The first thematic webinar from CIVITAS ECCENTRIC is coming!

Taking place on Tuesday 12 March 2019, 14:00-15:30 CET, it will examine vulnerable groups and gender issues in sustainable urban mobility planning.

Vulnerable groups such as children, older people, or people with disabilities depend on public transportation and accessible public space to stay mobile. Women are also more regular users of public transport than men.

Therefore, sustainable urban mobility planning needs to provide inclusive and accessible means of mobility for all of these groups.

This webinar offers insights from mobility planners and practitioners into different aspects of the topic:

  • Solutions and mobility measures addressing gender issues;
  • Improving walkability for all;
  • Offering better mobility for children and the elderly.

The city of Umeå (Sweden), host of the CIVITAS Forum 2018, will also share their experiences of addressing gender issues in their city.
