EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK at the CIVITAS Forum 2017

Since 2002, the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK (EMW) campaign has sought to influence mobility and urban transport issues, as well as improve public health and quality of life.

Introducing EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK to the CIVITAS community

In a session at this year's CIVITAS Forum, the theme for next year's EMW campaign will be introduced. In addition, two 'Golden Cities' will give 'elevator pitches' outlining how they benefitted from being involved in the campaign. The speakers are Torres Vedras, winner of the European Green Leaf Award in 2015, and Murcia, winner of the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award 2015.

A questions and answers session will follow, giving all present a chance to discuss the campaign and any topics related to it. A number of national EMW coordinators will also be introduced.

The session is taking place from 10:45 - 11:45 on 28 September in  Room PS X on the ground floor of the Pastoral Centre.

Three site visits are also taking place under the banner of EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK:

  1. The bike sharing system of Torres Vedras - ‘Agostinhas’ (including cycling tour);
  2. An introduction to Torres Vedras's Integrated Parking Management System;
  3. CIVITAS Politicians’ Forum site visit

The EMW team is looking forward to seeing you at the Forum!
