Deadline extended to 11 August for CIVITAS Awards applications
The deadline for applications to the 15th annual CIVITAS Awards has been extended to 11 August 2017 (23:59 CET).
This year’s CIVITAS Awards, with our special Master of Ceremonies Fred Dotter will be organised next to the picturesque Atlantic resort of Torres Vedras, Portugal on 28th September 2017 as part of the CIVITAS Forum Conference. This annual event brings together the CIVITAS community from across Europe: hundreds of mobility experts, actors and stakeholders, all of whom are devoted to the development of sustainable urban mobility in their cities.
The Awards showcase Europe’s most pioneering examples of policy-making and action on sustainable urban mobility and widely promotes these in the international media, inspiring cities across Europe and providing role models for further development in the field.
The CIVITAS Award is open to all towns and cities that have signed the CIVITAS Declaration and that are members of the CIVITAS Forum Network. If your town or city is not a Forum member yet, please complete and sign the CIVITAS Forum Declaration.
Winning cities can be in the running for prizes across four categories:
The “Bold Measure Award” rewards a daring and innovative approach that has not been widely implemented yet and positions the city as pioneer in certain thematic categories
The “Take Up” award rewards a single or an integrated set of innovative sustainable urban mobility measures that your town/city has successfully transferred to another
The “CIVITAS Legacy” award rewards cities that have successfully translated their inspiring and committed involvement in CIVITAS into long-term implementation of innovative measures with a high impact.
The “Transformations” award will recognise significant transformation and progress towards a liveable and smarter city through an integrated set of mobility measures.
