The CIVITAS 2017 Forum kicks off!

Today is finally the day. After much anticipation, the CIVITAS Forum 2017 is getting underway in Torres Vedras today.

Over the next three days, hundreds of mobility experts, actors and stakeholders will gather to witness the most exciting sustainable urban transport solutions from around Europe.

Maja Bakran Marcich, the Deputy Director-General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission, and Carlos Manuel Antunes Bernardes, the Mayor of Torres Vedras, will speak at the opening plenary.

Exciting and insightful sessions hosted by selected experts will delve into a diverse selection of themes, ranging from core sustainable mobility topics to newer perspectives in the field.

Here are some of the highlights to come over the next three days:

CIVITAS Deployment Day

A new feature this year, the Deployment Day will connect developers of new tools and methods with potential users. Live demonstrations and tailored training workshops will ensure that everyone finds the tool for their sustainable urban mobility needs.

Site Visits

Five different site visits give participants the chance to experience the city's mobility innovations and local area, including a cycling tour, a demonstration of the city's innovative integrated parking management system, and a visit to a local winery.

CIVITAS Awards

The CIVITAS Awards will showcase Europe’s most forward-thinking sustainable urban mobility policy and measures. These will be given out on the second evening following a gala dinner in a stunning venue on the Atlantic coast. Find out more here.
