Changing our habits is the key to sustainable mobility. The best way to influence behavior is to design good transport spatial solutions aimed at people, not cars. This includes the reliability and comfort of public transport and adequate pedestrian and cycling infrastructure. Only good and easily accessible transport alternatives can encourage people to think about other modes of transport and to stop relying solely on private cars.
The CIVINET Slo-Cro-SEE is hosting a webinar that will focus on this topic, specifically the impact of implemented measures on local inhabitants, and their subsequent behavioral changes. The webinar will focus on providing real-life examples from cities within the CIVINET Slo-Cro-SEE network. Presentations will consist of best practices from two decades of the CIVITAS Initiative and examples across Slovenia, of urban redesign and/or temporary conversion of city streets and neighborhoods in which citizens were involved - and their acceptance was achieved!
The webinar will be held on 13 December 2022, from 11:00 - 13:00 CET.
Change is an integral and necessary part of the life of individuals, families, organizations, and society. If we want to achieve the targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieve a climate-neutral EU by 2050, our behavior and habits in everyday travel should also change.
The webinar is intended for students, young experts and future leaders of urban mobility, representatives of local government, members of the CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-SEE network and other European CIVINET networks, and all stakeholders interested in this topic.
