Located in the province of North Brabant in southern Netherland, Helmond can be considered the European silicon valley for Urban ITS. Participans will have the opportunity to see a number of innovations developed and tested in the city: the ‘road of the future’, the Van Gogh-Roosegaarde cycle path, the innovative traffic control centre and the ‘crossing of the future’, an ITS solution that uses radar equipment to detect the presence of cyclists. The study tour will provide inspiration to professionals and city officials working in urban ITS and traffic management.
The event will take place on May 30th-31st 2016 and is organized by the CIVITAS Thematic Group on Transport Telematics, CIVINET Netherlands and Flanders and CIVITAS WIKI.
More information and details will be published in the coming weeks.
