The aim of this measure is to undertake a comprehensive mobility management review and to develop a mobility strategy for the port employees. This will mainly be done through measures envisaging alternative modes of travelling to and from work. In order to achieve this objective, we will start by analysing the employees’ present transport patterns and volumes.
In parallel, alternative transport modes to car that could be available and used by the workers will be studied in correlation with the SUMP and PMP vision and objectives.
On the basis of the data sets obtained during the above mentioned analysis, we will develop a plan presenting new models of employees’ mobility that will promote a sustainable and environmental friendly transport model and the mitigation of congestion in the City centre and at the Port gates. This strategy could include existent transport modes but unused by the workers and also recommendations for other modes of transport.
