First integrated transport app for smartphones in Portugal

MOVE-ME is a prototype of an application for smartphones developed by OPT - Optimization and Transport Planning, SA, which provides, to the final users, access to a diverse set of public transport information.

The application is the first of its kind in Portugal and allows users to integrate information from different operators, integrating different modes of transport, and establishes intermodal route planning in real time. The application was developed in collaboration with the Association ANTROP - for private transport companies - and the two public companies Metro do Porto and STCP. The prototype is implemented in the metropolitan area of Porto, integrating real-time information from the STCP and Metro do Porto companies, and planned data from 13 private operators associated to ANTROP. The system MOVE-ME is available for Android environment and can be downloaded for free on www.MOVE-ME.mobi. In case there is no Android technology available, any user can access the service and enjoy all its advantages, using an internet access to the same site.
